Paws Animal Welfare Society (“PAWS”) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation in Petaling Jaya that has been caring for abandoned, stray and unwanted cats and dogs since 1987. The animals are dewormed, vaccinated, neutered and put up for adoption.

Currently, PAWS has over 250 dogs and 250 cats under its care. The shelter is entirely funded by donations from the public and proceeds from charitable events.

Led by an elected committee, the team consists of four office staff, a number of part-time veterinarians and veterinary assistants, seven animal carers and one driver.

PAWS is registered under the Registry of Societies Malaysia and licensed by the Animal Welfare Board in the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia under the Animal Welfare Act of 2015.
